INFORMATIVE SPEECH PLAN Title: Natural Remedies for Colds Specific Speech Purpose: To inform my audience of the different ways to treat colds using natural remedies. Statement: People should learn the alternative ways in treating common ailments such as colds since medicine, nowadays, are bought at a high price. INTRODUCTION I. Attention Step: It was a lovely day at school. I was walking to the canteen with my classmates when suddenly, I sneezed, and guess what happened? I swiftly covered my face with one hand, and as I quickly ran to the comfort room, I could feel the warm, sticky liquid rolling down my poor nose. Some spices act as remedies in treating colds. A. Let pepper be an ingredient in the food you eat. 1. Pepper contains components which are known to thin mucus. 2. You may also gargle using warm water with pepper. B. Learn to love garlic. 1. Scientific studies have shown that the substances contained in garlic have a powerful viral effect. C. Make ginger your partner. 1. Eating ginger raw or drinking ginger tea has been proven to be effective in treating colds since the old days. 2. Investigations have discovered that the substances in ginger act specifically against cold-causing virus.
